GRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT
When a local interior designer approached TWIO’s Creative Director, Brandon Fratto, with the opportunity to collaborate on a “Highball” Bar in downtown Salt Lake City, he couldn’t say YES fast enough.
The concept was straightforward: a retro-themed neighborhood bar that was not craft-cocktail stuffy. Instead, they wanted a very approachable place with an early mid-century vibe … a cool hangout where anyone could enjoy a beverage, a bite and spend time relaxing before heading to the music venue next door.

WORKFLOW
Working directly with the interior design lead, Brandon pulled graphic reference materials to start on a visual direction. The two were so aligned, the chips quickly fell into place.
A downtown Highball haunt, featuring colors, textures and touches pulled from their favorite vintage mid-century styles. Add in some music, some old school skate influences and a nod to Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats racing past and you get the ideal place for people to enjoy a pre-show snack and beverage on the patio.
OUTCOME
TWIO produced a full graphics package that included multiple visual elements like a large, full-wall mural, food film, matchbooks, coasters, menus and social + web elements. All complemented the very curated customer experience envisioned by Blue Gene’s owners.
SPACE & ELEMENTS
A custom, 80-foot wall mural was designed to span the entire space, providing a nice graphic backdrop to an otherwise very long wall, delivering warmth + the right vibe to the place.
Coasters and Matchbooks are at home with the fun, mod patterns and colors of the bar space.
